The Boost the Grid challenge that kicked off in July 2022 was a great opportunity to collaborate with the Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen and envision the electricity grid of the future. We asked for smart, innovative solutions to prevent grid and market congestion. The result? A whopping 12 potential solutions from innovators, all aimed at making our electricity grid more efficient and future-proof.
On 15 June 2023, Vlissingen became the hub of energy innovation during the ‘Get Unlocked’ event. More than 190 entrepreneurs gathered at the former PZEM power station, organized by Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen and Dockwize. They gained inspiration and participated in an afternoon filled with innovative demos and interesting keynotes. The highlight? The finale of the Boost the Grid challenge, where 6 parties were awarded funding with a total value of 1.6 million euros, to realise their plans.
The challenge aimed at promoting sustainable usage, accelerating the energy transition and encouraging renewable energy generation. This enables us to assure the energy supply and sustainability goals while supporting the economic development of regions and businesses. Why the ‘Boost the Grid’ challenge?
These six parties went home with the resources to realise their innovative projects:
